Benefits Of Foaming Cleanser
Frothy and light, foaming cleansers can be a powerful skin-care step for gently removing oil and impurities that bog down the surface of the skin and clog pores. Here’s how to know if a foaming cleanser is right for you.
Why choose a foaming cleanser?
There are many types of cleansers including foam, cream, oil and micellar water. Foam cleansers create a lather when you apply them to damp skin. They’re typically best for normal, oily and acne-prone skin types.
Are foaming cleansers gentle?
Some foaming cleansers strip oils from the face, making them an option for only the oiliest skin types. But there are also modern foam formulas that contain ultra-gentle, moisturizing ingredients. If you have extremely dry skin, you’re still probably better off using an oil or cream, but most other skin types can try a foaming cleanser.
How to use your cleanser
You can use a foaming cleanser morning and night to remove excess oil, impurities and debris from your face. Follow these steps:
- Wash your hands.
- If you’re wearing makeup, you may prefer to use a makeup remover first.
- If you haven’t used a makeup remover, moisten your face with lukewarm water.
- Place a small amount of foaming cleanser in your palm and rub it in circles over your skin for several seconds, working it into crevices and along your hairline.
- Rinse it off with lukewarm water
- Pat your face dry.
- Complete the rest of your skin-care routine. At minimum, you should apply a moisturizer.
